You have made the clear
decision to exhibit at a show in one of the major venues, to promote your product or service and
you are now looking for extra ways to stand out. So what can you do to give your exhibition stand
that little extra edge? What are some of the tricks to standing out and tracting positive attention
to your exhibiton stand?
Apart from trying to get the best posible position at the show (i.e. where there is a lot of
traffic walking past the stand), open space is always attractive on a sub-conscious level to the
eye. Avoiding clutter and creating a comfortable spacious area is a positive move. Clever use of
lighting and mirrors can also have a positive impact, if these features are utilised effectively.
The lighting can be used to highlight certain features of the stand whilst the mirrors can help to
give the impression of more space.
Additionally, ensuring that you brand name and logo are clearly displayed and that your
stand provides some type of memorable feature, can certainly create an impact. Do not though,
overlook the basics, such as the provision of literature (i.e. through the use of literature
stands) and extras such as the provision of free drinks.
According to your budget, hiring in a special guest or some type of performer can also
create an impact, if this is done in an appropiate way. If you are selling sports gear and you are
exhibiting at Plymouth Pavilions in Devon, England, why not try and hire in a Plymouth Argyle
football player for a guest appearance, for example. Mime artists can also be entertaining and be
used for many different types of show. Many exhibitors also choose to use traditional dress such as
travel stands at the World Travel Market.
